New community center in Groß Grönau

The building was erected in the northern area between the street and the sports field. There is an outdated sports home on the construction site, which was demolished before the construction work. The environment was characterized by loosened residential developments of similar construction heights and many open spaces with partly dense trees and plants

The object of building class 3 comprised 4 usage units

A sports area was planned on the ground floor, a youth, bistro and communal area was created on the upper floor. The sports area with changing rooms, shower rooms and equipment rooms served the sports facility in front of the property. Overall, the usable area of the project was approx. 1,160 square meters according to the plan as of October 13, 2014 by the architects “Meyer Steffens Architekten”.

Customized energy concepts

The energetic conception as the basis of the technical building equipment should have long-term functionality in the sense of a comprehensible cost-benefit ratio and at the same time entail an acceptable weight distribution of ecological and economic criteria, influences and effects. In advance, it was determined in a holistic sense to what extent existing energetic and otherwise beneficial systems could be integrated into the system structure. The basic principle for the planning was the focus on an energetic symbiosis of the individual components as part of the holistic view of the project and its plant systems. Within this conception, variants of the system structures of the technical building equipment were compared, discussed and projected onto the project in order to finally make a valuable and functional recommendation for the individual components.

In order to comply with the legal requirements, the holistic consideration of the building envelope and building services was always pursued

After deriving the architectural, technical and property-specific basic parameters of the property and a subsequent description of all conceivable technical systems, ecological and economically specific arguments were given, which were reflected and merged in the course of the current state of the art, politically required measures and physically sensible approaches, so that a bundled recommendation for measures paved the way for further project planning of the property.
